Fleurette Carter made us aroused in her debut aptly titled Aroused (1966). The story of Manhattan prostitutes being murdered by a psycho is difficult material, but Fleurette handles it was aplomb, especially when dead, bloodied and topless. She continued with the provocative titles in her next feature, The Hookers (1967), about three women and their paths towards a life in prostitution. She worked, albeit uncredited, for Blake Edwards in his Peter Gunn adaptation Gunn (1967) and on TV on the original The Bill Cosby Show in 1969, before returning to the big screen with two more exploitation films. The Naked Zoo (1970) and The Love Machine (1971) marked the end of this beautiful black woman’s erotic career.
